Daylight Saving Time Adjustments Affect Nighttime Public Transport in Freiburg

The switch to daylight saving time will bring changes to late-night transit services in Freiburg. On Sunday, March 29, 2026, clocks will move forward from 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM, effectively skipping one hour—and this will also impact bus and tram schedules, according to Freiburg's public transport operator, VAG Freiburg.

Tram lines 1, 3, 4, and 5 will not run between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM. Following the time change, VAG warns that digital displays in its app or at stops may show incorrect times. However, services will operate as scheduled, and passengers are advised to check printed timetables for accuracy.

Night bus routes will also see adjustments: Several early-morning trips on line N40 will be canceled, with the first regular service departing Freiburg main station for Munzingen at 3:10 AM. On line N41, one departure from the main station will be omitted, with the next connection to Niederrimsingen running at 3:40 AM.

The changes are due to the shortened night caused by the transition to daylight saving time.
