€10,000 stolen in Langen after thieves target elderly man at gas station
Two unknown suspects stole more than €10,000 in Langen on Thursday morning after spying on a victim's bank PIN and stealing his wallet. Police are investigating and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
According to authorities, the two suspects noticed an elderly man at a gas station on Berliner Allee around 11:30 a.m. They reportedly observed him entering his PIN while making a payment.
Woman later approached man at his car
The suspects then allegedly followed the victim to Farnweg, where, based on current findings, a woman engaged him in conversation while he was in his vehicle. At an unguarded moment, she is said to have stolen his wallet from the center console.
The woman is described as being between 40 and 50 years old, around 1.60 meters tall, and of sturdy build. She reportedly had dark, shoulder-length hair tied in a braid and was dressed in dark clothing. The only detail available about the second suspect is that he was also wearing dark clothing.
Withdrawal made shortly afterward
Police report that the perpetrators later conducted at least one withdrawal at a bank on Mörfelder Landstraße around 11:50 a.m., making off with over €10,000 in total.
The suspects may have been traveling in a vehicle with license plates from the Aschaffenburg district. Offenbach Criminal Police have asked anyone with relevant information or suspicious observations to contact them at +49 69 8098-1234.
