It's Easter. Families gather and rejoice in the colorful eggs, cakes, and festive mealsâjust as they did before the pandemic.
Easter 2025 Brings Sunshine, New Otter Exhibit at Fasanerie Park
Dear people of Wiesbaden, Easter is one of the most beautiful celebrations of the year for us. The sun begins to tickle our noses, winter is finally behind us, and winter tires are ready to be tucked away until next season. It's a time for phone callsâfor family, friends, and for ourselves. The weather is set to cooperate with spring's joys this Sunday and Monday, so if the eggs aren't hidden yet, they can stay dry outside. As the children wander through the garden, the skies should hold. In the afternoon, why not take a trip? Perhaps up the Neroberg or to the LeichtweiĂ Cave. The Fasanerie Wildlife Park is also waiting with its wonderfully shaggy donkeysâand the star attraction, the new otter enclosure. Watch the little creatures at play, splashing in the water. Let yourself drift along; we wouldn't do it any other way.
Happy Easter!

Easter Facts
Since the Passion, death, and Resurrection of Christ fell during Passover week according to the New Testament, the date of Easter is tied to this movable Jewish festival. Determined by a lunisolar calendar, Easter in the Western Church always falls on the Sunday following the first full moon of springâmeaning it can occur as early as March 22 or as late as April 25 in the Gregorian calendar. This also sets the dates for other movable feasts in the Easter cycle. And what does the Church celebrate on these days? The Resurrection. (Source:Wikipedia)
