Marburg: Man threatened with weapon in snack bar
On Tuesday evening (02.09.2025) around 18:35, a larger police operation took place in the Marburger Bahnhofstraße. A 24-year-old German national is said to have threatened a man with a weapon and demanded cash in a snack bar there. The suspect fled but was later arrested by police in the course of the immediate manhunt. The weapon, a blank-firing pistol, was secured. No one was injured. The 24-year-old was presented to the competent examining magistrate at the Marburg district court the next day (03.09.2025), who issued a warrant for his detention at the request of the Marburg public prosecutor's office. The man is now in custody.
Marburg-Wehrda: Driver commits several offenses in two days
A Mercedes driver came into the sights of a Marburg police patrol in the night from Monday to Tuesday (02.09.2025). The 34-year-old was obviously under the influence of drugs around 02:55 in the Großfelder Straße in Marburg. A drug test showed a positive result. The officers also found that he did not have a valid driver's license. Moreover, he had a prohibited knife and a baton with him, which were then secured. The patrol took him to the station, where a doctor took a blood sample. Therefore, the man from Marburg is facing criminal proceedings for drug driving, driving without a license, and violating the weapons law. Only two days later (Thursday, 04.09.2025), the 34-year-old Mercedes driver was noticed again by an attentive patrol around 7:40 in Marburg. He was under the influence of drugs again. As a result, two more criminal proceedings were initiated against him for repeated drug driving and driving without a license. The vehicle owner must also answer for allowing the vehicle to be driven by the 34-year-old without a license.
Lahntal: Driven against traffic and fled
The police are looking for witnesses who observed an accident on the B62 in Lahntal in the night from Saturday to Sunday (31.08.2025). A 29-year-old was driving his blue Ford Focus from Buchenau towards Caldern around 2:25 am when a dark vehicle suddenly entered the opposite lane and came towards him on his lane. To avoid a collision, he swerved to the right and hit the guardrail. The damage to the car was around 3,500 euros. According to the 29-year-old, the driver of the other vehicle was driving a dark BMW with a WI license plate.
