Crime spree and car crash rattle central Hesse in one day

Butzbach: Break-in at Church
Around 05:00 AM on Wednesday morning (24.09.2025), members of a congregation in Butzbach's Himmrichsweg discovered a break-in at the local church. Unknown individuals had entered through a window during the night, making off with items including a gilded cross and a container of relics. Witnesses reported suspicious noises around 03:00 AM in the area of the church. The Butzbach police are asking for further witnesses who may have noticed anything suspicious to come forward (Tel.: 06033 70430).
WĂślfersheim: Heating bodies and copper pipes stolen
On Wednesday morning (24.09.2025), witnesses observed two men loading five heating bodies and several copper pipes into a white vehicle on the Hof of a property in the Wohnbacher StraĂe. When the witnesses approached the two men, they quickly got into the vehicle and drove off. One man is described as approximately 40 years old, about 170 cm tall, heavyset, with a darker complexion, short black hair, and a full beard. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black jogging pants. The other man is also approximately 40 years old and about 160 cm tall. He is described as thin, with short black hair, wearing a black t-shirt and black jogging pants. The license plate of the white vehicle began with "BN-" and had a logo of a roofing company. The police in Friedberg are investigating and asking: Who noticed these two men or the vehicle on Wednesday? Who can provide information on the identity of the two individuals or the full license plate of the vehicle? Witnesses can contact the Friedberg police station at Tel.: 06031 6010.
Bad Vilbel: Door holds firm
Between 09:00 AM and 21:00 PM on Wednesday (24.09.2025), a burglar attempted to enter a basement apartment in Bad Vilbel's FeldbergstraĂe. However, the access door held firm, preventing the perpetrator from gaining entry. Please direct any witness information to the Friedberg Criminal Police (Tel.: 06031 6010).
Reichelsheim: Three lightly injured in accident
On Wednesday evening (24.09.2025), a 19-year-old Friedberger in a Citroen C3 was traveling on the K 171 from the direction of Bauernheim and wanted to turn left onto the L 3187 towards Dorn-Assenheim. According to initial investigations, she failed to notice the VW Touareg coming from the direction of Dorn-Assenheim and a collision occurred. The 19-year-old and her two 16-year-old passengers sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Touareg was uninjured. Both vehicles were no longer roadworthy. The total material damage is estimated at 12,000 EUR.
