Crime, crashes, and chaos: Limburg's turbulent week in incidents
A series of incidents unfolded across Limburg and surrounding areas this week. A garden shed was burgled, a drunk driver was apprehended, and two separate bike accidents left children injured. Police and emergency services responded to each case.
Between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon, thieves broke into a garden shed in Limburg. The only item reported missing was a JBL-branded music speaker.
On Wednesday afternoon, a drunk driver was seen swerving along field paths near Mengerskirchen. Officers arrested the driver after a breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of over 1.9 per mille. The individual was taken into temporary custody. Later that evening, two children collided while cycling in Altstadtstraße, Limburg. Both suffered injuries, and one required hospital treatment after paramedics provided initial care. In a separate incident on Wednesday evening, an 11-year-old boy crashed his bike in Bad Camberg. He was not wearing a helmet and sustained a serious head injury. Emergency crews airlifted him to a hospital in Koblenz for further treatment.
The stolen speaker remains unrecovered, and police continue to investigate the shed break-in. The drunk driver faces potential charges, while the injured children receive medical attention. Authorities have urged cyclists to wear helmets and remain cautious on the roads.
