Peine: Future of Mobility Takes Center Stage at BRAWO Mobility Spring '26
BRAWO Mobility Spring '26 returns with electric vehicles, energy solutions and family fun
The BRAWO Mobility Spring '26 will bring the future of mobility to life in Peine's city center on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, April 12, from 1 to 6 p.m. Nearly a dozen dealers will showcase their latest internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrids, electric vehicles, motorcycles, and e-scooters, according to a statement from Peine Marketing.
Around 30 booths will combine information on innovative mobility solutions with entertainment and hands-on experiences—organized by Peine Marketing, presented by title sponsor Volksbank BRAWO, and supported by main sponsor Hagen Energiesysteme & Gebäudetechnik, as well as the Kaufmannsgilde zu Peine. The guild will also host an open-Sunday shopping event from 1 to 6 p.m. as part of the BRAWO Mobility Spring.
Entertainment and Experiences Revolving Around Mobility
"At BRAWO Mobility Spring, the entire pedestrian zone transforms into a mobility mile, blending information, experience, and interaction," says Thorge Karnick, deputy chairman of the supervisory board at Peine Marketing. "This unique mix draws people from across the region to Peine, reinforcing the city center as a cross-generational meeting place."
From the Historischer Marktplatz (Historic Market Square) along Breite Straße to Bahnhofstraße, nearly 80 vehicles will be on display for visitors to admire.
"Mobility today means more than just getting from A to B—it connects people, ideas, and a sustainable future," explains Anja Barlen-Herbig, managing director of Peine Marketing. "Last year, the event attracted nearly 20,000 visitors from the region. BRAWO Mobility Spring proves that the city center is more than just a shopping destination—it's a space for personal encounters, culinary discoveries, cultural offerings, and innovative experiences. A highlight is the open-Sunday shopping event, which we're organizing together with the Kaufmannsgilde zu Peine. We're proud to work with our partners to create an event that brings people together."
"The mobility sector is evolving at breathtaking speed, offering more diverse, flexible, and sustainable ways to get around," says Stefan Honrath, head of Volksbank BRAWO's Peine branch. "As Volksbank BRAWO, we support BRAWO Mobility Spring because it gives people in the region a free, convenient, and engaging way to learn about the latest technology and offerings." The bank will also contribute to the event with its own booth on the market square. "As always, we'll provide entertainment, information, and a great prize draw," Honrath adds. Visitors can peek under the hoods of the newest models, take test seats, enjoy that new-car scent, and learn about comfort and driver-assistance systems.
Info Booths Focused on Mobility
A range of information and service offerings on mobility will complement the automotive showcase in Peine's city center. At the Hagen Energiesysteme & Gebäudetechnik booth, visitors can discover how to maximize the potential of photovoltaic systems to power homes, heating, and charging for e-bikes and electric cars more efficiently.
"As a committed provider of sustainable energy solutions, we're thrilled to see growing interest in e-mobility," says Christian Hagen, managing director of Hagen Energiesysteme & Gebäudetechnik. "At BRAWO Mobility Spring, we'll show visitors how a comprehensive system—combining solar panels, heat pumps, and energy storage—can create an efficient and cost-effective charging infrastructure right at home."
BRAWO Mobility Spring: Fun, Action, and Excitement at Peine's Historic Market Square
At the Historic Market Square, Volksbank BRAWO invites visitors to its popular info and entertainment booth for games, fun, and an exciting special event. Vintage race cars and classic vehicles from the Motor-Sport-Club Peine e.V. and FHF Peine e.V. showcase the rapid technological advancements of past decades. Thrill-seekers will enjoy the offerings from a motorcycle dealer, including e-scooters. The police will also be on hand, inviting guests to test their skills on an e-scooter obstacle course and try out an e-scooter simulator. Those looking to get their bikes ready for spring can take advantage of the bicycle cleaning service provided by Round Table Peine—and do some good with a donation. Additionally, the ADFC (German Cycling Association) will offer free bike registration at their booth.
Shop Till You Drop: Open Sunday on April 12, 2026
Visitors to BRAWO Mobility Spring can combine their trip with a shopping spree—not just on Saturday, but also during the special open Sunday on April 12, 2026, from 1 to 6 PM, organized by the Kaufmannsgilde zu Peine (Peine Merchants' Guild). Extra attractions will complement the event, including a fashion show by Nensel and Schridde boutiques, showcasing the latest spring trends.
"Events like BRAWO Mobility Spring are a real boost for open Sundays," says Sören Stolte, a board member of the Kaufmannsgilde zu Peine. "They bring in more foot traffic, generate buzz, and enhance the overall experience—benefiting retailers, service providers, restaurants, and the entire city center."
Family-Friendly Event with Plenty of Hands-On Activities
The entertaining and informative BRAWO Mobility Spring program is packed with family-friendly fun, including a Kids' Zone in the courtyard of the Schwan hotel, featuring puppet theater, balloon animals, a hula-hoop workshop, and face painting. Creative street performers in elaborate costumes will engage with visitors: giant spring flowers will delight children, the "Mirrorman" will add a futuristic touch, and the "Badler" will roll through town in his mobile bathtub, inviting guests for a ride.
On Sunday, "Robotman" and Peine's mascot, Uhlinchen, will be available for photos, while "Güstaf" will arrive with the "Smoky 41", a whimsical mode of transport. Inside the City-Galerie, visitors can enjoy interactive bike experiments, race model cars on mini tracks, and take a spin on a vintage carousel during the open Sunday (April 12, 1–6 PM).
Also on Sunday, the Stadtjugendpflege (City Youth Services) will provide information about their programs in front of the Schwan, and Kathrin Bolte, project manager for downtown development, will host an open "City Office Hour" from 1 to 6 PM.
Along the pedestrian zone, sweet and savory treats will be available. "BRAWO Mobility Spring has something for every age group," says Marina Scharenberg, event manager at Peine Marketing. "There are plenty of interactive activities, including last year's hit, 'Beat the Pro' at the Schwan. Visitors can challenge dart professional Arno Merk—on Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 1 to 4 PM. Anyone who beats Merk at the board can win one of three[P]EINER-for-allcity vouchers worth €50."
Comprehensive Safety Measures for Visitor Protection
The safety of participants and visitors is of the utmost priority for the city of Peine and Peine Marketing. As part of the event's security measures, protective barriers will be installed at all access points to Peine's pedestrian zone to prevent vehicles from entering the event area. The restrictions will affect Bahnhofstraße (north side), Breite Straße, Gröpern, Schützenstraße, and the Historic Market Square.
Residents and businesses along these streets should note that deliveries and vehicle access will not be possible during the following times: Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 9:30 AM to approximately 5:30 PM, and Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 12:30 PM to approximately 6:30 PM.
Those who park in areas accessible only via the pedestrian zone or the market square are advised to find alternative parking during the specified times if they need to use their vehicle within those hours. The city of Peine and Peine Marketing thank the public for their understanding of these necessary restrictions.
