Arson suspected after trash bins set ablaze near Frankfurt school

A fire broke out on school grounds in Frankfurt's Gallus district late on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Three trash bins were set alight along Ludwigstraße, prompting an emergency response from local firefighters. Authorities are now investigating the incident as a potential act of arson.

The blaze was reported at approximately 11:15 p.m. Fire crews arrived quickly and extinguished the flames before they could spread. No damage was caused to the school building itself.

Police have yet to identify any suspects or gather leads on who may have started the fire. Criminal investigators have since taken charge of the case. They are urging anyone with information to come forward.
