Trendelburg (Kassel district):

Investigators from the 11th Commission of the Kassel Criminal Police are seeking witnesses who can provide information about a fire that occurred in Trendelburg overnight on Saturday. The fire department and police were called to the Deisel neighborhood around 2:40 AM on Sunday after a witness reported seeing flames on the grounds of a kindergarten on Raiffeisenstraße. According to a patrol from the Hofgeismar police station that was deployed to the scene, several trash cans were on fire at two different locations on the kindergarten grounds, which were quickly extinguished by the fire department. A large trash container and a trash can located directly next to the kindergarten building were completely burned out, causing damage to a window, the exterior wall, and two more trash cans. Additionally, another trash can was on fire at another location on the kindergarten property. The total damage is estimated to be around 5,000 euros.

The investigators from the 11th Commission of the Kassel Criminal Police, which is responsible for arson cases, currently assume that the trash cans were deliberately set on fire by unknown perpetrators. The investigators ask that anyone who observed suspicious persons in the area of the fire scene or has information about the perpetrators contact the North Hesse Police Headquarters at 0561 - 9100.
