Arson suspected after donation bin fire in Bad Wildungen

A clothing donation bin in Bad Wildungen was deliberately set alight on March 22. The fire, believed to have been started with fireworks, caused damage to nearby containers. Authorities are now investigating the incident as arson.

The blaze broke out at around 10:30 a.m. on Odershäuser Straße. Firefighters quickly arrived and extinguished the flames before they spread further. Despite their efforts, two adjacent containers suffered damage in the process.

Korbach Criminal Police have taken charge of the case. Early findings suggest the fire was started intentionally using fireworks. The total damage is estimated at roughly €3,000. Investigators are appealing for witnesses who may have seen suspicious behaviour in the area. No previous reports of similar incidents involving donation bins have been recorded in Bad Wildungen or Korbach.

The fire caused significant damage to the donation bin and two nearby containers. Police continue to search for leads, urging anyone with information to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing.
