Press release from the Schwalm-Eder Police Directorate on 22.09.2025:
Time: Saturday, 20.09.2025, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
On Saturday, 20.09.2025, the Regional Traffic Unit of the Schwalm-Eder Police Directorate, together with a colleague from Sontra Police Station, conducted a targeted control of motorized two-wheelers. The focus was on speed, distraction, alcohol, and drug influence.
The parking lot on the L3383 between Fritzlar-Geismar and Edertal-Wellen was chosen as the control location, as this route is often used as a direct approach to Lake Edersee.
Despite the sunny weather, numerous two-wheeled vehicles were on the road. In total, 92 people and 88 vehicles, including some cars, were checked. Additionally, both temporary and stationary speed measurements were carried out in the vicinity.
As a result, four control summonses and defect reports had to be issued, as the necessary documents were not carried. Furthermore, an administrative offense report was drawn up for the overloading of a car with a trailer.
Nine offenses were detected in the speed monitoring. The highest value was reached by a car driver who was measured at 110 km/h in a 70 km/h zone. He now faces a fine of 200 euros, a point in Flensburg, and a one-month driving ban.
The atmosphere at the control point was consistently positive, and the measure was met with high understanding from the traffic participants.
