Yakutskenergosbyt tightens late payment rules with harsher penalties in 2026
Yakutskenergosbyt has introduced new rules for late utility payments, set to take effect in 2026. The changes will affect both individual and corporate customers, with stricter penalties for overdue bills. Consumers are now urged to stay on top of their accounts to avoid extra fees or service cuts.
Starting in 2026, individual consumers will face penalties if payments are not made by the 15th of each month. This replaces the previous grace period, with late fees applied immediately after the deadline.
For those who fail to settle their debt within 20 days of receiving a notice, electricity will be cut off without warning. Reconnecting the supply will cost between 1,000 and 5,000 rubles, depending on the case. Unlike before, no gradual restrictions will be appliedāservice will stop entirely if the bill remains unpaid.
Corporate customers will also see changes. If their supply is restricted due to unpaid bills, reconnection will require a fee of 15,000 rubles. Remote reconnection, where possible, will cost 1,000 rubles instead.
The company has not released details on how these penalties compare to other Russian regions. However, the new system aims to enforce stricter payment discipline across the board.
The updated rules mean consumers must now pay their bills by the 15th of the month to avoid fines. Those who fall behind risk disconnection and additional charges for restoring service. Yakutskenergosbyt advises all customers to check their accounts regularly and settle payments on time.
