Yakutsk CHPP Crowns Top Foremen in Annual Skills Competition
The Yakutsk Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHPP), operated by Yakutskenergo PJSC (part of the RusHydro Group), hosted its annual "Best Master of the Yakutsk CHPP" competition, timed to coincide with World Day for Safety and Health at Work. The event aims to promote safe working conditions, enhance the prestige of the foreman role, highlight the social aspects of industrial production, and share best practices in workplace safety.
The competition unfolded in five stages, with seven specialists from different plant divisions taking part. Participants submitted video presentations on the theme "For me, workplace safety means...", demonstrated their theoretical knowledge through the "Olimpoks" program (covering occupational safety and fire prevention), showcased practical skills in using personal protective equipment, analyzed the correct execution of work permits, and underwent testing on first aid for workplace accidents. Each stage was evaluated by a separate panel of experienced, highly qualified experts.
Ruslan Nikolaev, foreman of Unit No. 3 at the Thermal Power Systems (RTS) division, claimed first place. Gennady Zabolotsky, foreman of Group 1 in the RTS Operational and Diagnostic Service, took second, while Sergei Morozov, foreman of the electrical workshop, secured third.
The top three winners received honorary certificates and medals, while the remaining participants were recognized with letters of appreciation for their active involvement.
The competition once again underscored the high professional standards of Yakutsk CHPP's foremen and their strong commitment to workplace safety.
