Wiesbaden hit by crimewave: burglaries, theft, and assault in two weeks
A series of crimes took place in Wiesbaden over a two-week period in late April and early May 2026. Incidents included burglaries, theft, assault, and verbal abuse, with three break-ins reported in a single weekend. Police are investigating each case separately. The first reported incident occurred on Saturday, April 18, at a local football pitch in Wiesbaden-Klarenthal. Between 6:00 PM and 7:45 PM, a 27-year-old woman allegedly directed homophobic slurs at a 25-year-old player during a match.
On Tuesday, May 5, car part thieves struck on Forststraße. Between 2:00 AM and 9:00 AM, they removed a side mirror from a parked Mercedes.
Over the weekend of May 8-10, three break-ins were recorded. On Friday evening, thieves forced open a patio door to enter a single-family home on An der Leimenkaut between 5:15 PM and 10:30 PM. The following day, around 11:00 AM, a church building on Kirchhohl in Naurod was broken into. Then, on Sunday afternoon, an apartment in a multi-family home on Hessenring was burgled between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM.
Later that Sunday, at 11:30 PM, a 32-year-old taxi driver was threatened and injured by an unknown passenger in Wiesbaden-Nordost. Authorities are reviewing evidence from each incident, including witness statements and security footage where available. The taxi driver received medical attention for injuries sustained during the assault. No arrests have been announced in connection with any of the cases.
