Weekend crime spree shakes Bad Homburg, Oberursel, and Königstein

A series of crimes took place across Bad Homburg, Oberursel, and Königstein over the weekend. Incidents included thefts, vandalism, and assaults, with police responding to multiple calls between Thursday and Sunday. Several suspects remain at large, while others were apprehended during the operations. The first reported incident occurred between Thursday, August 21, at 12:30 PM and Friday, August 22, at 8:30 AM. A church window on Bischof-Brand-Straße in Oberursel (Weißkirchen) was found damaged during this period.

On Friday evening, at 7:40 PM, a group of youths extorted a 14-year-old for money on Louisenstraße in Bad Homburg. The suspects escaped in different directions—some on bicycles, others on e-scooters, and a few on foot—heading toward Schwedenpfad. Earlier that same day, at 8:50 AM, a con artist stole a gold necklace from a victim on Hohemarkstraße in Oberursel. Witnesses described the suspect as a woman aged 40 to 50, around 1.60 metres tall, with a stocky build, black hair, and striped pants. Between 3:30 PM on Thursday and 7:00 AM on Friday, unknown individuals broke into a construction site on Werner-Reimers-Straße in Bad Homburg. The extent of the damage or theft remains unclear. Later that night, at 10:00 PM, a drunk man assaulted police officers on Sodener Straße in Königstein. After being taken to the station to sober up, he repeatedly struck an officer, though no serious injuries were reported. In the early hours of Sunday, August 24, at 1:00 AM, two thieves were caught at a recycling centre on Nehringstraße in Bad Homburg. They had entered the premises, dismantled cable trays, and begun stealing cables and electronic devices before being arrested.

Police are investigating the incidents, with some suspects still unidentified. The arrested individuals face charges related to theft and assault. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward to assist ongoing inquiries.
