Copper Cable Theft

Wave of crimes hits Lauterbach and Freiensteinau in one week

Alsfeld. Between Sunday (14.09) and Thursday (18.09), unknown individuals broke into a vacant warehouse on Am Kreuzweg street in Alterburg. The perpetrators tore out a large quantity of copper wiring from the walls and stole it. The value of the stolen goods is in the low five-figure range. Car Vandalized

Lauterbach. Between Wednesday (17.09) and Friday (19.09), unknown individuals damaged a gray Suzuki Jimmy parked on Memelstraße. The vandals scratched the hood and dented the rear of the vehicle, causing approximately €1,000 in damage. Trash Bin Fire

Lauterbach. On Saturday (20.09) at around 6:15 PM, a paper recycling bin caught fire outside an educational institution on Vogelsbergstraße. An alert employee noticed the blaze and extinguished it. The cause of the fire remains unclear and is under police investigation; arson has not been ruled out. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the incident caused roughly €500 in property damage. Assault

Freiensteinau. In the early hours of Sunday (21.09), around 4:30 AM, a 47-year-old man was walking along Ahlstraße when an unknown man approached and suddenly punched and kicked him before fleeing in an unknown direction. The victim sustained minor injuries and received medical attention at the scene. He described the attacker as follows: male, approximately 190 cm tall, aged 25–30, with blonde hair and an athletic build.
