(me) As part of the action week "Safety Days" from September 16 to 22, police officers led by the Hanau station carried out traffic checks in the city area on Monday. Between 9 am and 12 pm, the officers checked various road users on the escort road. During this time, eleven drivers were found not wearing seat belts, and another person was using a mobile phone improperly. In addition to the traffic offenses, two proceedings were initiated for suspected driving without a license, and one person was provisionally arrested. A warrant was outstanding against the man, so he had to be taken to the station for now. Further investigations are ongoing.

  1. Kia XCeed stolen: Who saw something? - Hanau

(me) Between Saturday, 7 pm and Monday, 5 pm, unknown persons stole an SUV worth about 20,000 euros. The black car had previously been parked in the Fallbachstraße area by its owners. How the thieves opened the Kia XCeed with HU license plates and then fled with it is now part of the investigation. Hanau's criminal police are taking tips on the whereabouts of the car or the thieves at 06181 100-123.

  1. Motorcyclist pushed off the road and slightly injured - Maintal

(cb) A motorcyclist who was riding on the L3268 towards Maintal Bischofsheim on Friday morning crashed after being allegedly pushed off the road by an unknown Opel driver. According to current findings, the driver of a brown Opel overtook a bus around 7:30 am. When merging in front of the bus, the overtaking Opel driver probably overlooked the 20-year-old on his black small motorcycle, who was driving directly in front of the bus. The motorcyclist's vehicle skidded and ended up in the ditch next to the road. The young man sustained injuries to his hip area. The black Yamaha motorcycle sustained about 50 euros in damage. Witnesses are asked to call the Maintal police station at 06181 4302-0.

  1. Witness search: Transporter stolen - Nidderau

(me) The police from Langenselbold and a 58-year-old from Nidderau have been searching for a white transporter since Saturday. The Ford was parked in the Bornwiesenweg (single-digit house numbers) in the Windecken district by its owner. 1. Break-in at liquor store - Nidderau

(cb) Unknown persons made off with alcohol, cash, and cigarettes worth several thousand euros after breaking into a liquor store in the Friedberger Straße (30s house numbers). The thieves gained access to the business premises through a window that had been forced open and then took the loot and fled. The damage caused by the incident, which occurred between Saturday, 8:30 pm and Monday, 7:30 am, is estimated at about 5,000 euros. The break-in commission in Hanau is handling the investigation and can be reached at 06181 100-123 for tips.

  1. Witness search after theft from construction site - Gelnhausen / Hailer Unknown individuals presumably broke into two construction site containers over the weekend, located on Weißkirchenweg in the single-digit house numbers area of a construction site. An initial interrogation revealed that the incident must have occurred between Thursday at 5 PM and Monday morning at 6 AM. During the investigation, a patrol found that two of the construction site containers had been forced open. The perpetrators took a lamp and several tools worth around 300 euros. It is possible that the unknown individuals were disturbed, as they left behind significantly more valuable items that they had apparently already collected for removal. The police have initiated an investigation and are asking for witnesses to call 06051 827-0.
  2. Accident at pedestrian crossing: 31-year-old woman hospitalized with severe injuries - Bad Soden-Salmünster / Salmünster

According to current findings, a 70-year-old woman from the Main-Kinzig district was driving in her blue Mercedes A-Class towards Spessartstraße just after 8 AM. There is a pedestrian crossing at house number 18, which the 31-year-old had already crossed. The Mercedes driver apparently did not see the pedestrian, leading to a collision. A passing ambulance crew noticed the accident, provided first aid, and took the injured woman to a nearby hospital. The Mercedes sustained approximately 2,000 euros in damage. Witnesses of the accident are asked to contact the Bad Orb police station at 06052 9148-0.
