Violent rampage in Ginsheim-Gustavsburg leaves child injured and cars damaged
A 23-year-old man caused chaos in Ginsheim-Gustavsburg on Friday evening, damaging vehicles and assaulting a child. Police intervened after reports of violent behaviour, leading to his arrest near the railway underpass in Bischofsheim. The suspect now faces multiple criminal charges.
The incident began around 17:30 on 20 March 2025. The man first attacked a 43-year-old on Nürnberg Street, pulling the victim's three-year-old son off his bicycle. He then stomped on the child before fleeing the scene.
Moments later, he threw a paving stone through the window of a passing car, slightly injuring the 37-year-old driver. He targeted a second vehicle with another stone, causing further damage. Using more paving stones, he vandalised two additional cars near *An der Schleuse* and along the Main dam. Police quickly apprehended the suspect near the railway underpass in Bischofsheim. Authorities noted his confused state during the arrest. Afterward, he was taken to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation.
The total damage from the attacks runs into several thousand euros. The suspect remains in custody, with investigations ongoing. Police have not released details on how they located him so swiftly.
