Kamchatka court voids road repair contract over fraudulent tender bid
A Kamchatka regional prosecutor's office has successfully sued to recover over 160 million rubles in advance payments made to a contractor after a court ruled the awarding process invalid.
An investigation revealed that last year, a sole bidder won a tender for repairing residential roadways in the Mishenny district of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The contractor provided documents allegedly proving experience in road constructionāand received an upfront payment under the contract.
However, prosecutors later determined that the submitted paperwork did not actually confirm the required qualifications.
The Kamchatka Krai Prosecutor's Office then filed a lawsuit to invalidate both the auction and the municipal contract, demanding the return of the 164 million-ruble advance. The court ruled in favor of the prosecution.
