Rheingau-Taunus hit by vandalism and speeding crackdown in one week

Rheingau-Taunus hit by vandalism and speeding crackdown in one week

A series of vandalism incidents and traffic violations have been reported across the Rheingau-Taunus region over the past week. Schools, parked cars, and speeding drivers were all involved in the separate cases.

The first incident occurred overnight on Thursday, August 21, 2025, when vandals sprayed graffiti on the front door of a school on Kirmsseweg in Idstein. Staff discovered the damage on Friday morning, with repair costs estimated at around €1,000. Idstein police are now seeking witnesses and have asked anyone with information to contact them at (06126) 9394-0.

On Sunday, August 24, a Mercedes AMG was damaged in Aarbergen-Daisbach after another driver collided with it and fled the scene. The incident caused nearly €3,000 in damages. Bad Schwalbach police are investigating and have requested that anyone with details call (06124) 7078-0. In a separate case, a parked vehicle in Walluf was scratched by vandals overnight into Monday, resulting in €4,500 worth of damage. Meanwhile, the Regional Traffic Service for Rheingau-Taunus carried out speed enforcement on Federal Highway 54 near Aarbergen-Michelbach on Saturday, August 23. Officers recorded 16 speeding violations, with two drivers now facing potential driving bans.

Authorities are actively investigating the vandalism cases and have urged the public to come forward with any relevant information.
