PIA Group Expands Into Germany Through Strategic LADM Partnership

Belgian accounting and audit provider PIA Group forges a partnership with Germany's LADM, with law firm Hengeler Mueller advising on the deal.

According to a statement, corporate law firm Hengeler Mueller is advising PIA Group International on its strategic entry into the German market.

The Companies

PIA Group International is an international provider of accounting, advisory, and audit services headquartered in Ghent, Belgium. It has formed a strategic alliance with LADM Aymans Bacht (LADM), a multidisciplinary professional services firm with five offices and 130 employees across North Rhine-Westphalia.

As part of its German market expansion, PIA Group has established PIA Deutschland GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, while LADM has launched PIA Deutschland NRW GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft as a subsidiary. The two firms aim to become market leaders in cross-border tax advisory and auditing services between Germany and the Netherlands.

From Family Office to Audit Powerhouse

Through its partnership with LADM, PIA Group's workforce will grow to nearly 3,500 employees. The group now comprises 75 firms across over 150 locations, generating combined annual revenues of approximately €500 million.

PIA Group is one of the fastest-growing international tax advisory and audit networks, expanding its operations from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg into Germany. The group is majority-owned by Baltisse, the family office of Belgian entrepreneur Filip Balcaen.

The Advisory Team

Hengeler Mueller provided legal counsel to PIA Group on professional, regulatory, and corporate law aspects of the transaction. The team included Prof. Dirk Uwer (Partner) and Manuel Joseph (Associate, both Düsseldorf) for professional and regulatory matters, as well as Annika Clauss (Partner, Frankfurt) for corporate law.
