Multi-vehicle crash on Wiesbaden's Theodor Heuss Bridge leaves two cars wrecked
A serious crash took place on the Theodor Heuss Bridge in Wiesbaden on Tuesday evening. A 23-year-old driver in a Mercedes Sprinter van lost control, leading to a multi-vehicle collision and significant damage. The incident began when the young man failed to reduce his speed while approaching the bridge. His van struck the right-hand curb, causing him to swerve into oncoming traffic. There, he sideswiped a Volkswagen before slamming into the bridge railing.
The force of the impact left both vehicles severely damaged and undriveable. Emergency crews towed them from the scene. The Sprinter driver suffered injuries and was taken for medical attention. Authorities later assessed the total damage, including repairs to the bridge railing, at around €45,000.
