Man arrested in Kassel after trying to sell stolen saws online

A 21-year-old man was arrested in Kassel city centre on Sunday afternoon. Police seized three circular saws from his car after he allegedly tried to sell stolen tools online. The suspect now faces charges of handling stolen goods. The incident began when a burglary victim spotted his missing tools listed for sale on an online classifieds platform. The items had been stolen from a basement in an apartment building on Mönchebergstraße.

Undercover officers arranged a meeting with the suspect at Friedrichsplatz. When confronted, the man admitted buying the tools despite suspecting they were stolen. Two of the saws were confirmed to belong to the original victim.

Investigations are still underway to determine the source of the third saw. Authorities are also looking into the original basement burglary. The suspect remains in custody while police continue their enquiries. The recovered saws will be returned to their rightful owner. Further details on the case are expected as the investigation progresses.
