Magadan youth can now apply for Russia's Pushkin Card cultural fund
Young residents of Magadan, aged between 14 and 22, can now apply for a Pushkin Card. This initiative, part of Russia's Family national project, offers financial support for attending cultural events across the country.
The Pushkin Card was introduced under a directive from President Vladimir Putin. It provides an annual allowance of 5,000 rubles, though no more than 2,000 rubles can be spent on cinema tickets. Any unused funds must be spent by December 31, as they do not roll over to the following year.
To qualify, applicants must be Russian citizens with a valid passport and SNILS. They must also have a verified Gosuslugi account. The card is available in two formats: a virtual version or a physical plastic card issued by VTB branches. Parents or guardians cannot apply on behalf of their children—only the young person themselves can register. The funds can only be used for events listed in the programme, which are regularly updated. Eligible activities can be found in the Gosuslugi.Kultura app or on the Kultura.rf portal.
The Pushkin Card aims to make cultural experiences more accessible for young people in Magadan and beyond. Eligible residents must apply individually and spend their allocation before the year-end deadline. No official figures have been released on how many in the region have received the card by the end of 2025.
