Kolyma employers get cash back for boosting workplace safety
Employers in Kolyma can now claim financial support for workplace safety improvements. The Magadan regional branch of Russiaâs Social Fund is offering reimbursements for measures that prevent injuries and occupational diseases. Nearly 50 local companies have already applied since the start of the year. To qualify, organisations must have no outstanding payments, penalties, or fines. They must first submit an application for approval and a funding plan by August 1. Once approved, employers cover the costs themselves before seeking reimbursement.
The funds can be used for a range of safety measures. These include personal protective equipment, mandatory medical check-ups, and spa treatments for employees in hazardous roles. Specialised safety devices, driver fatigue monitoring systems, and first-aid kits are also covered.
After implementing the measures, employers have until November 15 to apply for reimbursement. They must provide expense reports and supporting documents. Fund specialists then review each application within 15 business days.
Reimbursement amounts can reach up to 20% of the employerâs insurance contributions from the previous year. These contributions cover mandatory accident and occupational disease insurance. The scheme aims to encourage safer working conditions across the region. Employers who meet the criteria can recover part of their spending on protective measures. The deadline for initial applications remains August 1.
