Kazakhstan sets 2026 Ramadan dates and raises fitrana donation rate
Kazakhstan has announced key dates and rates for Islamic observances in 2026. Ramadan will span 29 days, ending with Eid al-Fitr on March 20. Authorities have also set the mandatory fitrana donation at 735 tenge per person, up from the previous year.
The holy month of Ramadan in 2026 will conclude with Eid al-Fitr celebrations on Friday, March 20. Laylat al-Qadr, often called the Night of Power, will take place on the night of March 16–17.
Later in the year, Eid al-Adha will begin on May 27 and continue through May 29. This festival marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage and involves prayers, feasting, and charitable acts.
For fitrana—the charitable donation required before Eid al-Fitr—Kazakhstan has raised the rate to 735 tenge per person. This marks an increase from 655 tenge in 2025. Donations can be made conveniently through mobile banking apps or Kazpost, the national postal service.
The updated fitrana rate reflects rising costs, while the confirmed dates allow communities to prepare for prayers and gatherings. Residents can use digital platforms to fulfil their charitable obligations ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
