Hesse Welcomes Two New Local Community Police Officers in 2026

Two new Local Community Officers have taken up their roles in Hesse's police stations. Christian Hill began his position in Schwalmstadt on 1 February 2026, while Katja Gröbner was appointed in Melsungen last November. Both bring years of experience and a focus on crime prevention to their communities. Christian Hill has served at Schwalmstadt Police Station since 2017, most recently as deputy community officer. His career spans operational and investigative work, earning him a reputation for professionalism and resilience. In his new role, he plans to engage directly with residents, collaborate with local stakeholders, and strengthen crime prevention efforts.

Katja Gröbner, 55, has been part of Melsungen Police Station since 2011. Beyond general policing, she has worked as a specialist instructor in physical training and operational tactics. As the new community officer, she emphasises building trust, preventing crime, and working closely with other agencies. A long-time resident of the region, she is married with two children and deeply connected to the area.

Hill and Gröbner now lead community policing in their respective stations. Their combined experience in operations, training, and public engagement will shape local crime prevention strategies. Both officers have already outlined plans to foster stronger ties with residents and partner organisations.
