Hanau's Hochgericht Daycare Center nears completion ahead of schedule and under budget
Hanau's newest daycare centre is taking shape ahead of time and under budget. The Hochgericht Daycare Center, part of the city's urban development plan, will soon welcome 154 children in a modern facility next to BĂŒrgerpark Hochgericht. Officials confirm the project remains on track for completion by late 2026âthree months earlier than expected. The facility will replace the existing daycare on Dresdner StraĂe, with all children and staff moving to the new location. Designed for seven groups, it will cater to infants through six-year-olds. Inside, the centre includes spacious group rooms, a large dining area, and dedicated staff spaces. Outdoor access will connect directly to Hochgericht Citizens' Park, offering play areas for the children.
Construction costs currently stand at around âŹ8.72 million, staying within the approved âŹ8.75 million budget. The project has also secured roughly âŹ2.29 million in grants as part of the 'Weststadt with BĂŒrgerpark Hochgericht' development plan. Work on the outdoor facilities will begin in late summer or early autumn 2026, finishing by February 2027. Despite this being the last daycare planned for immediate completion, Hanau's long-term plans include two additional centres. These will address future demand based on population growth and childcare needs.
The Hochgericht Daycare Center is set to open by the end of 2026, offering modern facilities for 154 children. With construction progressing smoothly and costs controlled, the project marks a key step in Hanau's urban development. The relocation from Dresdner StraĂe will consolidate services in a single, upgraded location.
