Two brazen crimes struck the Taunus region within hours—one a high-stakes car theft, the other a costly act of youth vandalism. Police seek witnesses in both cases.

BMW X3 stolen and vending machine vandalized in separate Taunus crimes

A red BMW X3 was stolen in Schwalbach on Monday afternoon. The vehicle, last registered with the license plate "MTK-AG 24," was taken by unknown individuals between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Authorities are still investigating how the thieves managed to steal the car, which was parked on the street, without a key.

Two unidentified children damaged a Regiomat (local vending machine) in Niederjosbach on Monday afternoon. The glass front of the self-service machine was severely cracked after the boys threw stones at it. A witness observed the two boys, who are estimated to have caused over €1,000 in damages. They are described as slim and between eight and ten years old. One had short blonde hair and was wearing a white jacket, carrying a scooter. His accomplice had short dark hair, wore a red jacket, and also had a scooter with him.
