Black Corvette engulfed in flames in Riedstadt arson probe

On Saturday morning (27.9.), a vigilant witness reported a vehicle fire in the Thomas-Mann-Straße around 2 AM. A parked black Corvette was burning. The promptly deployed fire department quickly brought the fire under control and extinguished it. No one was injured in the fire. Initial estimates suggest the property damage is around 4,000 euros. The criminal police have initiated an investigation. Current findings suggest arson cannot be ruled out.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is being handled by the responsible Kommissariat 10. Witnesses who have observed anything suspicious or have any useful information are asked to contact the criminal police in Rüsselsheim at 06142/6960.
