Allianz reshuffles leadership with new Board appointments and regional shifts

Allianz SE has announced key changes to its Board of Management, including new appointments and extended mandates. The reshuffle will see shifts in regional responsibilities and leadership roles, with some executives taking on broader duties while others prepare to depart.

The company, part of the Allianz Group—which employs around 156,626 people globally—has also confirmed strong financial performance in its Allianz Partners subsidiary, with revenue exceeding €10.5 billion in 2025.

From January 1, 2027, Tomas Kunzmann will join the Board of Management, overseeing the Asia Pacific region, including India. He currently serves as CEO of Allianz Partners, a role he has held since July 2022. Under his leadership, the subsidiary has expanded its customer base to over 90 million worldwide and achieved an operating profit of €402 million in 2025.

Kunzmann, who joined Allianz Group in 2009, brings experience from various roles within the company. He studied business administration at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, with additional studies in Washington, D.C., and Jyväskylä, Finland. His appointment follows the transfer of Asia Pacific responsibilities from Renate Wagner, who will now focus on Germany, Switzerland, Central Europe, and retain her 'People & Culture' and 'Mergers & Acquisitions' portfolios.

Sirma Boshnakova will take charge of the Global Property & Casualty Retail unit, managing retail insurance operations across the globe. Meanwhile, Claire-Marie Coste-Lepoutre's term as Chief Financial Officer and Board member has been extended until December 31, 2031.

Klaus-Peter Röhler will leave the Board of Management on December 31, 2026, after reaching the company's age limit and completing his contractual term.

The leadership adjustments reflect Allianz's strategy to strengthen regional oversight and maintain growth. Kunzmann's move to the Board of Management aligns with the company's focus on Asia Pacific expansion. The extended mandate for Coste-Lepoutre ensures continuity in financial leadership for the next seven years.
