Zeppelin Group to acquire Constellation Baulogistik in strategic logistics expansion
Zeppelin Group has agreed to acquire Constellation Baulogistik GmbH, a specialist in construction logistics with operations across Germany. The deal, still awaiting antitrust approval, is set to finalise in May. Both companies expect the move to strengthen their positions in a rapidly evolving market. Constellation Baulogistik runs two distinct units: cpc baulogistik GmbH, a 20-year veteran in the sector, and GreenLean Baulogistik GmbH (GLB), a newer player founded in 2023. Together, they employ nearly 100 people in Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover, and Munich. Their services cover everything from planning secondary construction processes to operational logistics, serving clients like construction firms, industrial companies, and public-sector contractors.
Over the past five years, cpc has expanded its digital offerings, specialising in AI-driven logistics software and forming key partnerships. It now handles 60 to 70 projects annually. Meanwhile, GLB has carved out a niche in sustainable, lean digital solutions, gaining traction through eco-certifications and regional growth.
The majority stake in Constellation Baulogistik was previously held by financial investor Constellation Capital. Peter Schrader, head of Zeppelin's Strategic Rental Business Unit, has highlighted the growing importance of construction logistics in the industry. The transaction remains subject to antitrust approval, with a decision expected by May. If cleared, the acquisition will integrate Constellation Baulogistik's expertise and client base into Zeppelin Group's operations. The combined entity aims to capitalise on rising demand for advanced construction logistics solutions.
