Zech Building acquires Wayss & Freytag in major engineering construction deal

Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG has been sold by Royal BAM Group to Zech Building. The Frankfurt-based company specialises in engineering construction and international tunnelling projects. Its annual revenue stands at around €300 million.

The deal was led by legal advisors Gleiss Lutz, with Andreas Löhdefink overseeing the process. Wayss & Freytag operates mainly in Germany's engineering construction sector while also handling major tunnelling projects abroad.

The transaction still requires the usual regulatory approvals before finalisation. No further details on Zech Building's market position or competitive standing have been disclosed.

Once approved, the acquisition will transfer ownership of Wayss & Freytag to Zech Building. The company's headquarters will remain in Frankfurt am Main, where it continues to generate significant revenue in its specialist fields.
