UCO Bank's Kohima Carnival Expands Credit for Nagaland's Farmers and MSMEs
UCO Bank organised a Resource, MSME, and Agriculture Carnival in Kohima on Wednesday. The event aimed to boost credit access for farmers and small businesses in Nagaland. It was part of a nationwide series held during the fourth quarter of the 2025-26 financial year.
The carnival was inaugurated by Zonal Manager Narendra Pratap Singh. He highlighted the bank's dedication to customers in the Jorhat Zone and its role in Nagaland's socio-economic growth.
Deputy General Manager Chinmay Kumar Sahu shared the bank's performance for the third quarter of 2025-26. Deposits stood at over Rs 3.05 lakh crore, while advances surpassed Rs 2.30 lakh crore. He also praised Nagaland's efforts to preserve its cultural heritage. Amit Kumar, MSME Hub Head for the Jorhat Zone, presented the bank's latest loan schemes. These included support for small businesses, traders, and young entrepreneurs. The zone has already sanctioned loans worth more than Rs 743 crore to 10,545 beneficiaries this quarter. Local officials, including N. Timothy, Chief Manager and Branch Manager of Kohima, attended the event. They discussed ways to expand credit access in agriculture and MSME sectors.
UCO Bank's total business volume now exceeds Rs 5.36 lakh crore. The carnival series reflects its push to strengthen the economy through targeted lending. Further events are expected as part of the ongoing nationwide drive.
