Victim Left Bound and Naked - Trial Begins in Frankfurt - Trial begins for brutal Frankfurt home invasion that left victim bound for 27 hours
Three people are standing trial for a violent home invasion in Frankfurt that left a man bound, starved, and severely injured. The victim endured 27 hours without food, water, or the ability to move after the defendants broke into his apartment last year. Prosecutors have charged the defendants with false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm, and abandonment.
The attack began when two of the accused allegedly entered the victim's flat through an unlocked terrace door. They had reportedly scouted the property beforehand and tampered with parts of the surveillance system to avoid detection. Once inside, they assaulted the man, restraining him with cable ties that cut into his wrists and ankles.
The ordeal lasted over a full day. The victim, left naked and unable to move, suffered extreme dehydration and later developed kidney damage. During the attack, the assailants stole his wallet, keys, and a wristwatch they believed was a β¬85,000 luxury modelβonly to discover it was a counterfeit.
Police arrested the suspects in July. The trial is now underway, with a verdict expected in April.
The case highlights the severity of the injuries inflicted on the victim, including long-term physical harm. The court will determine whether the defendants are guilty of the charges, which include violent assault, unlawful restraint, and theft. A decision is due in the coming months.
