Nexus bolsters Financial Institutions team with Walid Youssef's strategic hire

Nexus has expanded its Financial Institutions team with the appointment of Walid Youssef. The move follows a series of recent hires aimed at strengthening the company's specialist underwriting capabilities. Youssef will take charge of the UK portfolio and report directly to Joanne Edgley, UK Head of Financial Lines.

Youssef arrives at Nexus from Lockton, where he held the role of Senior Vice President in the global Financial Institutions team. Before that, he spent over four years at Travelers Europe, most recently as Head of Financial Institutions. His earlier career also includes a position as Vice President at Marsh, where he focused on insurance solutions for financial clients.

Nexus has been actively building its Financial Institutions division. Recent additions include Sam Meehan as Head of Underwriting Development, Scott Walker as Senior Underwriter, and Harry Risby as an underwriter. The company views Youssef's leadership as key to growing its portfolio in this sector. In his new role, Youssef will oversee the UK Financial Institutions portfolio and shape its strategic direction. His appointment reflects Nexus's ongoing commitment to offering tailored fiduciary and professional lines coverage for global financial institutions. Edgley welcomed Youssef, highlighting his experience as a valuable asset to the team. The company continues to prioritise specialist talent to meet the evolving needs of its clients.

Youssef's arrival marks another step in Nexus's expansion of its Financial Institutions team. With three underwriting appointments already made, the company is positioning itself to deliver more targeted solutions in the sector. His leadership will play a central role in driving the portfolio's growth in the UK and beyond.
