Mainz Welcomes 103 New Rental Apartments in Weisenau's Heiligkreuz Quarter

103 New Subsidized Rental Apartments Now Available in Mainz-Weisenau

Property manager Industria has announced that 103 newly built, government-subsidized rental apartments in Mainz-Weisenau are now ready for occupancy. Developed by Ten Brinke, the project at Walter-Hallstein-Straße is now entering the leasing phase.

The two- to five-room apartments are spread across two buildings, offering roughly 8,000 square meters of rental space. According to Industria, all units are fully accessible, energy-efficient, and constructed with new-build funding from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. As a result, they are subject to rent controls and occupancy restrictions. The development also includes an underground parking garage with 86 spaces, landscaped outdoor areas, and a playground for young children. The buildings were designed by Düsseldorf-based architecture firm POS4 Architekten. Leasing is set to begin in May 2026.

€40 Million Investment

The new apartments are located in the Heiligkreuz Quarter, which Industria describes as currently the most significant residential development in Mainz. Since 2017, the former 34-hectare IBM site in the Weisenau district has been transformed into a new neighborhood with 2,000 housing units for approximately 6,000 residents.

Industria acquired the project in 2023 for a special fund, with total investment costs amounting to around €40 million. The development combines sustainable construction standards, affordable housing, and an excellent micro-location.
