Guinea's Lottery-NGO Partnership Delivered Life-Changing Prosthetics—Then Stopped

A partnership between Guinea's national lottery and a local NGO once delivered essential orthopedic prostheses to those in need. In January 2026, nine custom prosthetic limbs were provided through this collaboration. However, no further deliveries have been recorded since then. The initiative began with a joint effort between Loterie Nationale de Guinée (LONAGUI) and NGO ACOSOF-Guinée. On January 29, 2026, they fitted nine patients with tailored prosthetic limbs at the Centre National d'Orthopédie de Donka. The project aimed to restore mobility, independence, and dignity to beneficiaries.

Recently, a delegation from ACOSOF visited LONAGUI to mark the milestone. During the meeting, the NGO presented activity reports and formally recognised LONAGUI's contributions with a commendation. The delegation also thanked the lottery's General Management for their role in the project's success.

LONAGUI described the partnership as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility. The organisation emphasised its goal of turning actions into measurable impacts for public well-being. Such collaborations between public institutions and NGOs have increasingly expanded healthcare access across Guinea. No additional prostheses have been delivered under this partnership since 2026. The last confirmed donation took place at the Donka orthopaedic centre. Official records show no further updates on the initiative's continuation.
