Giessen slashes speed limits to 30 km/h across key neighborhoods

The city of Giessen continues to strive for the protection and well-being of its citizens. In this regard, speed limits of 30 km/h are being introduced in several areas to improve noise protection and enhance the quality of life in the affected streets.

Specifically, a speed limit of 30 km/h for noise protection reasons is being implemented in the area of the North Annex in the direction of the West Annex, as well as between Krodorf Street and Leimenkauter Way. This measure aims to calm traffic and protect residents from noise and traffic congestion.

Additionally, a 30 km/h zone is being established in the area of Heyer Way between Grunberger Street and Roedgener Street. This is in response to the traffic situation and aims to increase safety and tranquility in this residential area. The 30 km/h zone in the area of the Cemetery Alley is being extended into Rodtberg Street, stopping just short of the Narzissen Way.

The city of Giessen asks all road users for understanding and compliance with the new speed limits. The goal is to sustainably improve the quality of life in the affected streets and to shape traffic flow more safely for all road users.
