Karben: Handbag snatched

On Tuesday afternoon (16.09.2025) around 16:00, a dark scooter with two occupants approached an 82-year-old woman on the sidewalk in Lessing Street, Petterweil. As they passed, the passenger snatched the woman's handbag. The two young men on the scooter were wearing gray sweatshirts and dark pants. They had dark hair and were not wearing helmets. The Friedberg CID is investigating and asks: Who observed the incident in Lessing Street, Petterweil on Tuesday afternoon? Who noticed two young men on a scooter? Butzbach: Searching for valuables in cars

On Thursday morning (18.09.2025) around 06:40, a resident from Pfeifergasse, Kirch-Göns, noticed a stranger sitting in the driver's seat of her car, which was parked in the open garage. She shouted at the man, who then got out and ran away. A neighbor heard the woman's screams and chased the unknown man through a narrow path into the field. There, he lost sight of him. The man is described as approximately 175 cm tall, with a darker complexion, black cap, black jacket, and dark jogging pants. He had no beard and was not carrying a backpack. Nothing was stolen by the unknown man. Later that day, the police received a report of another attempted theft in Pfeifergasse. Between Wednesday (17.09.2025), 18:00 and Thursday, 07:00, an unknown person opened and searched an unsecured red Hyundai. Again, the culprit made no gain. The Butzbach police asks for witnesses in both cases under Tel.: 06033 70430. Tip from the police: Always make sure your car is locked when you leave. This simple check can prevent you from becoming a victim of theft. Also, do not leave valuable items in the vehicle. Visible items can be an incentive for thieves.

Münzenberg / Rockenberg: Tools stolen

Thieves broke into a gray VW Crafter at the market square in Münzenberg in the period from Thursday evening (18.09.2025), 22:00 to Friday morning (19.09.2025), 06:30. They stole various tools worth approximately 7,000 EUR. In Rockenberg, unknown persons opened a Citroen Jumper in Siemens Street and took several machines. The time frame can be narrowed down to Thursday, 17:30 to Friday, 07:00. In both cases, the Butzbach police station accepts witness statements by phone under 06033 70430.

A 5: Three seriously injured in accident

On the A 5 heading north on late Thursday afternoon (18.09.2025) around 17:50, a 64-year-old woman from Celle was driving her Renault Captur. Between the Bad Homburg interchange and the Schäferborn rest area, the Renault for unknown reasons veered off the left of the four lanes to the right and collided with a truck traveling on the open shoulder. The Renault then flipped over and came to rest back on its wheels. The 64-year-old driver, the 69-year-old passenger, and the 51-year-old passenger were all seriously injured in the accident. They were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance. The truck driver was uninjured. The A 5 heading north was partially closed until just after midnight, causing a backup of up to 10 kilometers.
