Four Injured, One Seriously, in Hanau Traffic Collision
Bus and truck crash in Hanau leaves four injured, one critically
Four people were injuredāone seriouslyāin a major traffic accident in Hanau on Tuesday afternoon. According to police, a city bus and a delivery van collided around noon on Auheimer StraĆe near RodgaustraĆe. The bus then veered off the road and struck a wall.
The 73-year-old driver of the flatbed truck sustained serious injuries. The 39-year-old bus driver and two passengersāa 45-year-old woman and a 66-year-old manāwere also injured, though their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. All four were taken to hospitals for further treatment.
Bus Crashes Into Wall After Collision
Preliminary investigations suggest the 73-year-old had pulled onto Auheimer StraĆe from a property and apparently failed to notice the oncoming bus traveling toward GroĆauheim. The two vehicles collided, leaving the flatbed truck stationary on the road while the bus swerved to the right and hit a wall.
According to 5VISION.NEWS, a total of 13 people were involved in the accident. Ten other passengers were examined at the scene as a precaution. Firefighters had to extricate the truck driver from his vehicle.
Road Fully Closed Until Afternoon
Auheimer StraĆe near RodgaustraĆe remained completely closed until around 2:30 p.m. for rescue operations, accident documentation, and vehicle recovery. The Hanau fire department deployed approximately 50 emergency responders, while police used a drone to assist with the investigation.
Authorities estimate preliminary damages at between ā¬60,000 and ā¬70,000.
