Daniel Schnettler Appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Börsen-Zeitung
Börsen-Zeitung names Daniel Schnettler as new deputy editor-in-chief amid newsroom revamp
Daniel Schnettler has been named deputy editor-in-chief of Börsen-Zeitung, joining the editorial leadership team alongside Editor-in-Chief Sebastian Schmid and Deputy Editor Heidi Rohde. Schnettler, who has been with Börsen-Zeitung since June 2025, most recently headed the Corporate and Capital Markets sections.
Schnettler brings over two decades of experience in journalism and communications. He began his career as a trainee at Handelsblatt, later working for dpa-AFX and dpa—including a stint as U.S. economics correspondent in New York. He also held roles in corporate communications at R+V Insurance and Commerzbank.
Editor-in-Chief Sebastian Schmid commented on the appointment: "Daniel Schnettler brings extensive experience in media transformation from other organizations, which will provide us with valuable new perspectives."
At the same time, the newsroom is moving away from traditional sections. Going forward, four flexible topic-based teams will be formed, allowing for daily adjustments based on news developments. Each team will be led by seasoned editors: Sabine Reifenberger (Corporates), Thomas List (Banking & Finance), Stephan Lorz (Public Markets & Policy), and Christoph Ruhkamp (Private Markets). The Private Markets division, in particular, will see further expansion.
For over 70 years, Börsen-Zeitung has been Germany's only dedicated financial daily and is part of the WM Group.
