Aon names Julio Cedillo Mejía as new CEO for Latin America's risk and workforce divisions
Aon has appointed Julio Adolfo Cedillo Mejía as its new CEO for Commercial Risk and Human Capital in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. The move comes as the company strengthens its leadership across Latin America by merging its risk management and workforce consulting divisions. Cedillo Mejía, a 22-year veteran of Aon, will take up the role on 1 May 2026. Cedillo Mejía joined Aon in 2004 and has since played a key role in shaping its strategy. His most recent position was CEO of Reinsurance for Mexico and Central America, alongside serving as Chief Broking Officer for Reinsurance in Latin America. Throughout his career, he has been recognised for his customer-focused approach and strong leadership.
Aon's decision to integrate its risk and human capital services reflects its ambition to drive business growth in the region. The company believes Cedillo Mejía's deep market knowledge and experience will help push this strategy forward. While Aon has faced challenges in other markets—such as Germany, where the insurance brokerage sector shrank by an average of -0.5% annually between 2016 and 2021—its focus in Latin America remains expansion. The newly created division aims to streamline services and better support clients in the region.
Cedillo Mejía's appointment marks a significant step in Aon's plan to unify its operations in Latin America. His transition to the new role next year will bring together risk and human capital solutions under a single leadership. The company expects this change to enhance its service delivery and market position in the coming years.
