Alexander Osipov, Governor of Russia’s Transbaikal Territory, has given waste management operator Oleron+ a strict ultimatum. The company must improve its handling of solid municipal waste within a month—or face replacement by early January 2026.

The regional government has already supported Oleron+ with subsidies totalling at least 250 million rubles. Additional help included funding for new equipment. Yet, despite this financial backing, the waste removal situation has seen little real progress.

Oleron+ now has one month to address its shortcomings. If improvements are not made, TrasnMashholding will take over waste management duties by early 2026. The decision follows years of unmet expectations and substantial public investment.
