Yakutia’s New Maternity Capital Boosts Families with Financial Support

Yakutia, the largest republic in Russia, has implemented a regional maternity capital programme to support families. The scheme offers financial assistance for the birth of a second child and subsequent children, with varying amounts depending on the year of birth.

For a second child born in 2019, families receive 145,164.55 RUB. This amount increases to 191,829.55 RUB for those born after 2020. The 'Family' republican maternity capital can be used for a wide range of purposes, including purchasing livestock and poultry, medical rehabilitation, vehicles, and equipment for individual homes.

The regional laws, particularly the 'Law of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on Social Protection of Families with Children,' outline the usage of these benefits for the third and subsequent children. Yakutia provides a 'Family' republican maternity capital of 139,716.68 RUB for these children, with similar usage purposes. Both programmes allow applications to be submitted through the e-yakutia.ru portal.

The regional maternity capital in Yakutia offers significant financial support to families with children. The funds can be used for various purposes, including housing, education, and medical care, helping to improve the quality of life for families in the region.
