Yakutia cracks down on energy debtors with asset seizures and auctions

Bailiffs and utility providers across Yakutia are cracking down on energy debtors. The latest target is LLC Yakutskenergo, which owes over 3 million rubles. Enforcement proceedings have begun, with assets seized and auctioned to recover the debt.

The company's debt has been accumulating since 2018, reaching 186,400 rubles despite warnings and court rulings. Now, bailiffs are authorized to freeze bank accounts, seize property, impose travel bans, or garnish income. In the case of Yakutskenergo, they've seized dump trucks and a mobile crane.

Since the start of the year, over 300 addresses have been visited in 29 field operations. The seized equipment will be auctioned, with proceeds going towards the outstanding debt. This comes after a successful insolvency challenge against the company by energy providers and bailiffs.

The enforcement proceedings against LLC Yakutskenergo are ongoing. The seized assets will be sold, and the funds used to cover the debt. This serves as a reminder to debtors that failure to pay utility bills can lead to severe consequences, including the loss of property.
