Woman billed after using date calculator to cancel Gedisa membership

Claudia Hagedorn has slammed Gedisa after receiving an unexpected bill despite using a date calculator to cancel her membership. The issue started when she received a cancellation confirmation in January, but charges for the following quarter still appeared. She now claims the company’s handling of the situation has reinforced her decision to avoid working with them in the future.

On January 1, 2024, Hagedorn received a cancellation confirmation from Gedisa. The document stated that her termination request had been submitted on December 16, 2023. However, she disputes this date, insisting the request was made much earlier—four months prior using an age calculator.

After the confirmation arrived, she was billed €112 per location for the first quarter of 2024. The invoice included €75 for the basic package and €19.50 for the KIM connectivity service. Confused by the charges, her husband, Helge, reached out to Gedisa. A staff member assured him the billing error would be fixed.

No individual has been named as responsible for the mistake in processing the cancellation. Gedisa has not publicly addressed the issue or explained why the charges were applied after the supposed termination.

Hagedorn remains dissatisfied with Gedisa’s response and has made it clear she will not pursue further business with them. The unresolved billing dispute and lack of clarity over the cancellation date have left the matter unsettled. No further action from Gedisa has been reported so far.
