Wolfsburg Launches Mandatory Online Health Training for Food Workers

Wolfsburg has introduced a digital health instruction course for workers in the food and catering sectors. The mandatory training, required under Germany's Infection Protection Act, is now available online. Participants must complete it before starting jobs in kitchens, restaurants, or communal catering facilities. The course covers key topics such as spotting early signs of infectious diseases and preventing food contamination. It also explains when health issues might stop someone from working in these roles. To access the training, users need a BundID account and can find it on rathausonline.wolfsburg.de under 'Services' and 'Infection Protection'.

The digital instruction costs €26, payable by credit card or PayPal. After finishing, participants receive a certificate, which must be no older than three months when starting work. The city has not released figures comparing participation in the digital course to previous in-person sessions.

Workers in food handling and catering must now complete this online training before beginning their jobs. The certificate serves as proof of compliance with health regulations. Without it, individuals cannot legally start work in these sectors.
