Wiesbaden's Youth to Elect Parliament Online for First Time
Wiesbaden's youth are gearing up for a significant event in local democracy. The city's youth parliament election is set to take place online for the first time, with eligible candidates aged between 14 and 22 years old. The application deadline for those interested in running for office is fast approaching.
The election, scheduled between January 20 and February 16, 2023, will allow around 7,000 young residents to cast their digital votes. To be eligible, youths must be residents of Wiesbaden, born between January 19, 2004, and January 19, 2012. The application deadline for candidates is November 27, 2022.
The youth parliament, consisting of 31 members, serves as a serious voice for their generation in local politics. The successor committee for the current chairman, Musa Yolver, will be determined in February 2023.
The online voting portal will open on January 20, 2023, giving young people the opportunity to shape local politics. With the application deadline for candidates looming, interested youths are encouraged to submit their candidacies to the city's administration by November 27.
