Wiesbaden’s transport future takes center stage in a €100M funding simulation
A unique transport funding event will take place at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences on Moritzstraße 17A. Running from 7:00 PM to around 8:30 PM, the main event brings together local politicians, experts, and residents to discuss Wiesbaden’s mobility future. Organisers promise an interactive format with a twist—participants will allocate a hypothetical €100 million for transport projects.
The German Cyclists’ Federation (ADFC), Fuss e.V., the Transport Club Germany (VCD), and the association Wiesbaden neu bewegen have joined forces to host the session. Their goal is to examine the city’s traffic challenges, particularly around the main train station, while exploring long-term solutions.
Representatives from six parties—CDU, FDP, Green Party, Left Party, SPD, and Volt—will take part. All democratic groups with at least three city council seats received invitations. Alongside political voices, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Volker Blees from RheinMain University of Applied Sciences will contribute scientific insights. The evening will not follow a standard debate structure. Instead, attendees will engage in a simulation: distributing €100 million across transport initiatives. There will also be time for audience questions and presentations of mobility visions for 2031.
The event offers a platform for direct exchange between policymakers, experts, and the public. Decisions made during the simulation will highlight priorities for Wiesbaden’s transport network. Organisers aim to foster concrete discussions about funding and infrastructure before the next election cycle.
